(This entry will be refreshed and updated periodically, expect to see it over and over)
Ok....so Ive been thinking about this long and hard.
Ive been thinking about an Adventure Time video game, and I was thinking "what would it be like?"
Well, it would need to be fun...and engaging....it would have to be engagingly fun....yet it cant be shallow.
It needs depth.
So the only logical conclusion I could ever think of, is that it has to be a hybrid game.
IT would be an Action/Role playing/ Adventure Game
It would need to have combat...so what system would it use, that would do it justice?.....Kingdom Hearts...thats the only one that would be anything close. Of course it would be heavily modified. Their would be Weapons, Armor, Magic, Technology, and most things you would expect in an action game. Of course, the game will switch from an action, hack n Slash game, to a Third person shooter, depending on which weapon or power that you choose.
What would give the game depth too the player? How involved would they be, in the creation and growth of their character? Answer is VERY involved.
The character system would be modeled after a combination of "The Elder Scrolls" and the "Fallout" systems. Their would be Traits, Perks, Races, Classes, and all that good stuff. This would make you're character your own, heck you can even put in you're OC's as that what I had in mind in the first place.
But how are we going to engage the player, and make them feel like they are apart of the world that they are in? Make it a highly intractable environment. Make it into an Adventure/role playing/platforming game when outside of combat, make it feel that you are truly on an Adventure. Items and puzzles are all challenging, but not impossible, like those of Portal fame.
Well, anyways thats pretty much what I have in mind for the final product, but the next best thing would have to be an Isometric game, which is easier to program....and the next best thing after that, would be a top down, rouge like dungeon crawler....and after that, would be a table top, pen n pencil game, like Dungeons and Dragons.
Anyways, I got a lot of it all done, and im like half way there.
So what do you guys think of this idea? I would LOVE you're feedback.
